SHEMA is the Masorti community in Borehamwood that combines traditional prayer services with a modern outlook. 

We are inclusive and welcoming to all ages and backgrounds, our services are fully egalitarian and we encourage participation from everyone in all aspects of the service.

We are lucky to celebrate many Bnei Mitzvah and have monthly Children’s Services for different age groups.

We have weekly learning and social activities for adults and community programming for Shabbatot and Chagim including a popular monthly Friday night dinner for the community and guests.

​We are proud of our caring community, where Jewish observance is conducted in an inclusive, tolerant and open environment, combining traditional Judaism with a modern understanding of religious thought and practice.
